Role overview
A Rail Engineering Advanced Technician applies specialist knowledge to maintain, renew, and improve rail infrastructure or rolling stock in areas such as track, electrification, signalling, or traction. Apprentices at this level take on greater technical responsibility and can supervise others. This level 4 qualification leads to roles such as technical specialist, team leader, or progression towards engineering management.
